Live Rock
Okay, it'll soon be obvious that I don't know very much about marine aquaria, reefs, and all that. But when I moved to Florida recently I got the bug for a saltwater tank.
So, here are some pictures of my live rock taken 3 days after it went into the tank.
Some branch corals (?) on the left and on the right a small (and hard to see) forest of white things coming out of something else attached to the rock. A very colorful piece of rock.
At the top of this rock is "the blue thing" which has one of the red plant-things (see below) growing out of the middle of it. More branch corals and at the front a pretty faithful reproduction of the purple-ish color that covers much of the rock.
My camcorder failed me here. That is "the orange thing" and is more of a pumpkin color. As a side note, *something* lives in the hole underneath and in front of the orange thing. I don't know what it is but it has eyes on long stalks and blue forelimbs. If it's a crab, it's the biggest one I've seen on the new rock.
At the bottm-left is one of "the red things". There are 3 or 4 clams (I guess) on this rock. I often see cracks in the rock snap shut here (and on several other rocks also).
